How to heal Palworld?
Players search this as “how to heal palword”. Here is the verified Palworld 1.0 answer, plus the tools that let you act on it right away.
Short answer
Party Pals heal by eating and by resting. At base, beds and a well-stocked feed box restore Pals over time, while returning a Pal to the Palbox lets it recover. Medical supplies cure status conditions such as weakened or depressed states.
Palworld splits Pal recovery into three separate systems, and mixing them up is why a Pal sometimes refuses to get better.
1. Health — food and rest
Damaged Pals recover health by eating and by resting.
- In the field, a Pal in your party regenerates over time and heals faster when fed.
- At base, the feed box must contain food. An empty box is the most common cause of "my Pals never heal".
- Assigned beds let Pals sleep at night, which restores health and stamina.
One bed per assigned Pal is the rule. Under-bedding a base quietly degrades everything it produces.
2. Status conditions — medical supplies
Some states are not health loss. Weakened, injured and similar conditions need medical supplies crafted from the technology tree. Food alone will not clear them.
Keep a stock at your home base. Discovering you have none mid-project costs a lot of working hours.
3. Sanity — conditions, not items
A Pal can be at full health and still useless because its sanity has bottomed out. That is a separate problem with a separate fix, covered in how to increase Pal sanity.
Field healing
When something goes wrong away from base:
- Recall the Pal to the sphere — it stops taking damage and recovers.
- Send out a fresh Pal while the first recovers.
- Feed it if you carry food.
- Fast travel home if the situation is bad — see fast travel.
Losing a fight because you kept one damaged Pal out is avoidable; swapping costs nothing.
Keeping base Pals healthy
| Requirement | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Full feed box | Hungry Pals stop working and stop healing |
| One bed per Pal | Night recovery |
| A Hot Spring | Sanity recovery alongside rest |
| Defence Pals | Raids injure workers |
| Not overcrowding | Too many Pals for the food supply starves all of them |
A base that keeps its Pals fed and rested runs itself. A base that does not will grind to a halt while you are away, which is especially painful for a breeding farm mid-project.
Food supply is the root of it
Almost every healing problem traces back to food. Berry and Wheat plantations plus a Cooking Pot solve health, sanity and the Cake requirement for breeding at the same time. Build the farm before you build anything decorative.
Frequently asked questions
- Why is my Pal not healing in Palworld?
- Usually there is no food in the feed box, no bed assigned, or the Pal has a status condition that requires medical supplies rather than rest.
- Do Pals heal in the Palbox?
- Returning a Pal to the Palbox takes it out of danger and lets it recover, which is the simplest field option when you have no supplies.
- How do you cure a depressed Pal?
- Restore its sanity by improving base conditions — food, beds, a Hot Spring and lighter workloads — and use medical supplies for the specific condition.
