How do you get Eggs in Palworld?

There are three sources: Chikipi assigned to a Ranch produce food Eggs, wild Pal eggs are found scattered across the map by size and biome, and the Breeding Farm produces eggs from two parent Pals fed with Cake. All Pal eggs must be hatched in an Egg Incubator.

"Egg" means three different things in Palworld, and knowing which one you are after saves a lot of wasted time.

1. Food Eggs from Chikipi

Ordinary Eggs — the ingredient in Cake and many cooked dishes — come from Chikipi assigned to a Ranch.

Catch several Chikipi in the starting grasslands; they are the easiest Pal in the game to obtain.
Build a Ranch and assign two or three of them.
Add a chest and a Transporting Pal so the Eggs get collected.

That is the whole system. Chikipi lay Eggs continuously as long as they are fed and their sanity is fine.

2. Wild Pal eggs

Pal eggs sit on the ground across the world and hatch into a random Pal from a pool determined by two things:

Factor	Effect
Egg type	Scorching, Frozen, Damp, Verdant, Electric, Dark, Rocky, Dragon — matches the biome
Egg size	Common, Large, Huge — determines the rarity tier of the possible results

A Huge Scorching Egg from the volcanic region can hatch a high-tier Fire Pal. Sweeping a region on a flying mount purely for eggs is a genuinely efficient way to obtain Pals above your level, and each hatch also gives XP.

3. Bred eggs

The controlled option. A Breeding Farm with two parent Pals of opposite gender, fed with Cake, produces an egg whose species is fully determined by the parents. This is the only method that gives you a specific Pal on demand, and the only way to concentrate passive skills.

Hatching any Pal egg

All Pal eggs need an Egg Incubator, which requires Ancient Civilization Parts plus ordinary materials.

Temperature matters. An incubator sitting at the wrong temperature hatches slowly:

Hot eggs (Scorching, Dragon) — place a Campfire or heat source nearby
Cold eggs (Frozen) — use a Cooler or build in a cold region
Neutral eggs — room temperature is fine
