How to get wheat seeds Palworld?
Players search this as “how to get wheat seeds palword”. Here is the verified Palworld 1.0 answer, plus the tools that let you act on it right away.
Short answer
Wheat Seeds are purchased from the Wandering Merchant in the Small Settlement for a few hundred gold each, and drop from Grass-element Pals such as Flopie, Bristla, Dinossom and Petallia. You need a Wheat Plantation and a Mill to turn Wheat into Flour for Cake.
Wheat Seeds are the first link in the chain that ends with Cake and therefore with breeding. Getting them is easy; the mistake most players make is buying too few.
Buy them from a merchant
The reliable source is the Wandering Merchant at the Small Settlement, the first town most players reach. Wheat Seeds sit in his permanent stock for a few hundred gold apiece.
Merchants at other settlements sell them too, and their stock refreshes, so you can buy in bulk across a few visits.
Buy at least five to ten. A single plot produces slowly; a bakery that keeps a Breeding Farm supplied wants several plantations running at once.
Where does gold come from?
If gold is the limiting factor, sell surplus Pals to the Pal Merchant. The duplicates you accumulate while farming Leather or Bones are worth more sold than left in the box.
Farm them from Grass Pals
Grass-element Pals drop Wheat Seeds:
| Pal | Where |
|---|---|
| Flopie | Grasslands and forest edges |
| Bristla | Forest, mid-level |
| Dinossom | Forest and lakeside |
| Petallia | Forest, Alpha version too |
| Mossanda | Forest, larger yield |
Catching rather than killing gives the seeds plus capture XP, and the Grass Pals you collect double as Planting workers for the plantation you are about to build.
Building the Wheat plantation
- Unlock Wheat Plantation in the technology tree.
- Place it on flat ground inside your base radius, with room for more later.
- Assign Pals with Planting (Lifmunk, Flopie, Dinossom), Watering (Pengullet, Fuack, Jolthog) and Gathering (Lifmunk, Cattiva) work suitability.
- Build a Mill next to it and assign a Pal, so Wheat becomes Flour automatically.
- Keep fertiliser stocked if you want faster growth — fertiliser needs Bones.
Work suitability for every Pal is listed in our Paldex, so you can check a Pal's Planting or Watering level before assigning it.
Scale it properly
One Cake needs 5 Flour. A breeding project can burn dozens of Cakes in a session. In practice:
- Two to three Wheat plantations for a serious bakery
- One Mill per two plantations
- At least two Watering Pals, since watering is usually the bottleneck
Build it once, at full size, and the rest of the game gets easier.
