How do you use the Pal Condenser in Palworld?
Answer
Unlock and build the Pal Condenser, place the Pal you want to strengthen in it, then feed it duplicates of the same species. Each star rank permanently increases the Pal's stats. The target keeps its level, passives and gear; the duplicates are consumed.
Palworld has no evolution, so the Pal Condenser is how you make a specific Pal permanently stronger.
How it works
- Unlock the Pal Condenser in the technology tree and build it.
- Place the Pal you want to strengthen in the target slot.
- Add duplicates of the same species as fuel.
- Confirm — the duplicates are consumed and the target gains a star rank.
Each rank permanently increases the target's stats. Higher ranks cost progressively more duplicates.
What carries over
| Kept | Consumed |
|---|---|
| Target's level | The duplicate Pals |
| Target's passive skills | — |
| Target's equipped gear | — |
| Target's species | — |
Only the target survives. Its identity is completely unchanged apart from the star rank.
The correct order of operations
Breed for passives first. Condense second.
Condensing is expensive. If you condense a Pal with mediocre passive skills and later breed a better one, all of that investment is stranded on the wrong Pal. The right sequence is:
- Run a breeding project until you get the species with the passives you want — see the breeding guide and the legendary breeding guide.
- Then produce duplicates of that species.
- Then condense the good one.
Farming duplicates
The two efficient sources:
- Breeding the species with itself. A male and female of the same species produce that species, so a single pair generates unlimited fuel. Confirm any pair in the breeding calculator.
- Bulk catching. Ten captures of a species also unlocks a permanent Paldex capture bonus, so wild farming does double duty — see how to catch Alpha Pals for the capture mechanics.
For common species, catching is faster. For rare species and variants, breeding is the only realistic route.
Which Pals are worth condensing
- Your main combat Pal — the stat increase is felt in every boss fight
- Your primary [flying mount](/answers/how-to-get-a-flying-mount-in-palworld)
- A key work Pal you rely on at base
Do not condense broadly. Concentrate the investment on the two or three Pals you actually use.
Combined with everything else
Star ranks stack with levelling, stat-boosting items and Pal Gear. A bred Pal with strong passives, condensed to a high rank and properly geared is dramatically stronger than a wild capture of the same species — which is exactly what Palworld has instead of evolution.
Frequently asked questions
- What does condensing do in Palworld?
- It raises a Pal's star rank, permanently increasing its stats. It does not change the species, level or passive skills.
- Do you need duplicates of the same Pal to condense?
- Yes. Only the same species can be used as fuel, and each successive rank costs more duplicates than the last.
- Is it better to condense or breed for passives?
- Breed for passives first, then condense the result. Condensing a Pal with bad passives locks in a large investment on a weak base.
