Is Palworld crossplay?

Answer

Yes. Palworld supports crossplay across Steam, Xbox, Windows Game Pass and PlayStation 5 on current versions of the game. Players join a shared world using an invite code or by connecting to the same dedicated server. Some save data and dedicated-server options still differ by platform.

Crossplay is the single most searched Palworld question outside of gameplay, largely because the game launched without it and added it later.

The short version

Palworld supports crossplay on current versions between:

  • Steam (PC)
  • Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
  • Windows / Microsoft Store and Game Pass
  • PlayStation 5

Players on any of these can share the same world.

How to actually play together

There are two routes:

Invite code (co-op)

  1. The host loads their world and opens the menu.
  2. The host copies the invite code.
  3. Other players choose to join with a code and paste it in.

This is the simplest option for a small group and needs no setup. The host must be online for anyone to play, and the world only exists while they are hosting.

Dedicated server

A dedicated server runs independently of any player, stays online, and supports far more players. This is the right choice for a persistent group world — everyone connects to the same address regardless of platform.

Things that still trip people up

  • Version mismatch. Everyone must be on the same game version. Console updates and PC updates occasionally land at different times, and a mismatch simply refuses the connection.
  • Progress does not transfer. Your character belongs to a save, not to your account. Playing on a friend's world on another platform does not move your solo progress.
  • Server settings differ per world. Hatch times, breeding speed, XP rates and damage multipliers are all configurable, so the same activity can feel very different between two crossplay worlds.
  • Some hosting features are platform-specific. Dedicated-server hosting options are more flexible on PC.

Settings worth agreeing on before you start

If you are setting up a shared world, the settings that most change the experience are:

SettingWhy it matters
Egg hatch timeCan be set to instant, which transforms breeding
XP multiplierChanges how long the mid-game takes
Pal capture rateAffects how much sphere farming you do
Death penaltyWhether you drop items and Pals
Base limitsHow many bases and Pals per base

Groups running a breeding-heavy world almost always reduce hatch time; our egg incubation guide covers what that changes in practice.

Playing together efficiently

Multiplayer worlds reward division of labour: one player running the Cake supply chain, one running a mining base, one out hunting Alphas for Ancient Civilization Parts. A guild base is shared, so infrastructure built by one player benefits everyone.

Frequently asked questions

Can Xbox players play with PC players in Palworld?
Yes. Xbox, Windows Game Pass and Steam players can play together in the same world on current versions, either through an invite code or a shared dedicated server.
Can PlayStation players join Steam players?
Yes, PlayStation 5 is included in Palworld's crossplay support. All players must be running the same game version for the connection to work.
Does crossplay work for saves and progress?
Character progress is tied to the world you play in rather than following you across platforms, so a character created on one platform's save does not transfer to another platform's local save.
